本研究旨在探討高齡者持續參與志願服務的因素及參與志願服務後的成長與轉變及對生命意義的影響。本研究採質性個案研究,訪談一位參與志願服務工作超過二十年的高齡退休校長。訪談內容經資料處理分析後,獲得以下之研究結果:(一)受訪者參與志願服務動機有:感動、感恩、使命感、受重要人物影響;(二)受訪者持續參與志願服務的因素有:認同其所服務的團體、靈性需求獲得滿足、利他情懷;(三)受訪者參與志願服務的收穫與成長:學習新知、過充實愉快的生活、修身養德;(四)受訪者參與志願服務對生命意義的影響為:抱持感恩心回饋社會、把握當下善用時間、從付出中得到歡喜、從利他增長生命價值。最後,本研究依據研究結果提出建議,作為高齡者、志願服務團體和未來研究者之參考。
This study aimed to explore the factors for the elderly to continuously participate in voluntary service, the growth and transformation after participating in voluntary service, and the effects on the meaning of life. This research was a qualitative case study. An elderly retired principal was interviewed who has been involved in volunteer service for more than 20 years. After data processing and analysis, the following research results were obtained: (1) The interviewee's motivations for participating in voluntary service were touching, gratitude, sense of mission, and being influenced by important people; (2) The factors of interviewee's continuous participation in voluntary service were identifying the group she served, meeting her spiritual needs, and an act of altruism; (3) The gains and growth from the interviewee were obtaining new knowledge, living a fulfilling and happy life, and behaving morally; (4) The effects on the meaning of life for the interviewee were giving back to the society with gratitude, grasping the moment and making good use of time, gaining joy from giving, and increasing the value of life from altruism. Based on the results, some suggestions were made for the elderly, voluntary service groups, and future researchers.
