Technical Progress, Application and Prospect of Optical Telecommunication Network

The new services require higher speed broadband and bigger capacity of telecommunication network. It gives a new chance for development of existing telecommunication network. The R&D and application of WDM system makes the high speed and big capacity optical transmission network to become realizable, and brings a new business market. The all-optical network based on WDM is now at the stage of research and experiment. It will be a new generation of telecommunication infrastructure.
