摘要


本文介紹了RGBW顯示器子像素渲染技術的應用背景、一個多功能的子像素渲染模擬軟體的設計、使用該軟體進行視覺實驗的結果、以及RGBW顯示器色彩對比不自然的問題。為了解決這個問題,本研究提出的一種透過影像分析決定白色像素亮度的RGBW色域對應演算法。該演算可視影像內容,在盡可能不犧牲白色亮度的前提下提高色彩對比的自然度。本文最後建議了一個理想的RGBW子像素渲染演算流程,跟RGB三原色顯示器相比,可使影像呈現高視覺解析度以及較高的亮度。

The paper first introduces the technical background of sub-pixel rendering (SPR) for RGBW4-primary color displays, describes the design of a versatile SPR simulator which can be used for testing visual effects of various SPR parameters, summaries the major findings of a psycho-visual experiment based on the simulator, and points out its color inaccurate problem. An adaptive sub-pixel rendering algorithm is then proposed for solving the problem. The proposed SPR algorithm is capable of improving color naturalness of an RGBW display with high brightness under higher visual resolution.
