This paper develops a theoretical time-temperature relationship for compartment fire based on the fundamental heat balance. The heat balance equation takes into account the fire load, thermal properties of boundary, ventilation, combustion and heat release rate. The result of time-temperature relationship was compared with ISO 834, ECCS model and Lie model. Thermal analysis of steel fireproofing coating was analyzed by using the different fire model. The results of this study show that the more parameters can be considered, such as the rate of heat release, ventilation-controlled fire or fuel-controlled fire. On the contrary, the ECCS model and Lie model are not consideration the fuel-controlled fire and the growth phase. For fuel-controlled fires, the predictions of temperature of fire and steel are significant differences by using different fire model.
