The purpose of this study was to understand how two ESL high school classes in Pennsylvania, U.S.A. liked using computer technology in English writing. Twelve volunteer students from the two classes participated in a project called the Country Project. The Country Project required the participants to search the WWW, use the information to revise on computers a composition they had written by hand, and interact with each other through e-mails. It lasted for 26 days. Qualitative data collected included interviews and participant observation, while quantitative data consisted of a written survey. The results show that the participants generally liked to use computer technology in English writing and thought it was advantageous.
