This study examined how the fairness perceptions of third party observers of punishment events are influenced by the past performance record of the violator, the severity of the punishment, and the observer's affections for the violator. And the study concerned the interactions between these factors. A 2(superscript *)2(superscript *)2ANOVA design was used. Then, the study examined the relationship of the job attitudes and the fairness perceptions of observer. The research hypotheses were tested using a survey methodology. Subjects in the study included 224 employees from Tainan Science-based Industrial Park. Implications of these findings are discussed.
