In order to explore the popularization of, perceived effectiveness of traditional Chinese medicine, and difficulty to be faced when utilizing traditional Chinese medicine among people with spinal cord injury in central Taiwan, we collected and analyzed 115 effective questionnaires of them who had ever used Chinese medicine after injury. More than half of samplers utilized traditional Chinese medicine at their own expense with 200-500 NT dollars of medical charges that most of them (51.6%) afforded. The symptoms of the most perceived effectiveness are pressure sore (79%), incont-inence of sphincter (76.6%), and depressive mood (75.2%). 65.2% of participants agreed to attend the acupuncture therapy in the rehabilitation hospital where we collected the study sample.
