醫用超音波被引進台灣之後沒多久，孕婦及其家屬等社會大眾，在80 年代後漸漸地成為促使超音波能繼續在婦產科網絡內活動的新使用者。本章試圖從使用者的角度（以孕婦的觀點為主）出發，進而去觀察醫用超音波在我國婦產科內，當新的使用者在其生活網絡內接觸到超音波這項新儀器的過程中發生哪些事情？而這些事情可能是促使日後不論是醫師或孕婦等使用者，漸漸地對超音波這技術所給予的視覺經驗越來越倚賴，進而讓醫生與孕婦在產前檢查如此普遍的今日，變成越來越焦慮，抑或是醫病之間的醫療糾紛事件日益增多的原因嗎？

Expectant mothers and the public became new users pushing medical ultrasounds ahead in the network of the obstetrics and gynecology department with the introduction of medical ultrasounds in 1980’s. My research by users’ vision (especially expectant mothers) tried to observe the happening of the process that new users contacted medical ultrasounds inside the network of their life. The above-mentioned caused relying on visual experience given by the technology of ultrasounds, no matter doctors and mothers. They felt more and more anxious with the time of antenatal examinations popularizing today. Did it the reason make medical disputes increasing between doctors and mothers?
