臺灣地區豬繁殖與呼吸道症候群III.流行病學調查

Porcine Reproductive and Respiratory Syndrome (PRRS) in Taiwan III. Epidemiologic Survey

摘要


本試驗以血清學及病毒學方法於本省豬場進行豬繁殖與呼吸進症候群(PRRS)之流行病學調查;並以單株抗體初步檢測本省PRRS病毒株之抗原性。首先,於本省28家豬場逢機採取種豬及生長肥育豬之血清各12頭以上,以間接免疫螢光抗體染色法(IIF)檢測血清中之PRRS病毒抗體力價,結果顯示,豬場之陽性率為96.4%(27/28),而豬隻之陽性率亦高達80.2%(916/1143)。另外,於38家豬場各採取6-9週齡豬隻血清10頭以上,檢測血清中之PRRS病毒,38家豬場中36家(94.7%)為陽性,而所有受檢豬隻之陽性率為62.2%(428/688)。另外,利用三種不同之單株抗體(SDOW17,VO17,EP147),以IFA法檢測本省所分離出的70株PRRS病毒,結果發現,本省PRRS病毒可分成三種形式,8株僅與SDOW17反應,此與歐洲病毒株較相似,另8株與以上三種單源抗體皆呈陽性反應,此與美國病毒株較相似,其它54株則又與SDOW17及VO17反應,為本省PRRS病毒株所特有。以上結果顯示,PRRS已廣泛流行於本省豬場,且於6-9週齡豬隻出現病毒血症的比率極高;本省PRRS病毒株與歐洲和美國之病毒株在抗原上可能有相當程度的差異性。

An epidemiologic survey of porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome (PRRS), by serological and virological methods, was conducted on pig farms in Taiwan. Sera were collected from at least 12 fattening pigs and 12 sows from 28 different swine herds. Indirect immunofluorescent antibody tests (IIF) were performed on the sera to detect the antibody to PRRS virus (PRRSV). Of the 1143 sera from the 28 swine herds, 916 sera (80.2%) were positive. Twenty seven (96.4%) of the 28 farms had at Ieast 42.2% of pigs with positive sera. Sera were also obtained from at Ieast ten 6-to 9-week-old pigs from each of 38 pig farms. Of 688 sera tested. PRRSV was isolated from 428 sera (62.2%). Thirty six (94.7%) of the 38 farms had 2 or more pigs being PRRSV positive. The antigenicity of the isolated PRRSV strains was determined based on the reaction with monoclonal antibodies (SDOW17, VO17 and EP147). Unlike American PRRSV strains which react with all three monoclonal antibodies and European strains which react with SDOW17 only, 54 of 70 PRRSV Taiwan strains tested react with SDOW17 and VO17 but not with EP147. The results indicate that PRRSV is wide spread in Taiwan and there is high percentage of pigs with PRRS viremia at the age of 6- to 9-week. The antigenicity of PRRSV strains isolated from the pigs in Taiwan is worthy of note and further study is warranted to determine if there are significant differences between American, European and Taiwan PRRSV isolates.
