Watching, Reflection and Concentration: Visuality in the Philosophy of the "Zhuangzi"

摘要

觀視性在莊子哲學中有其重要的理論地位及意義，本文嘗試對於莊子哲學中的觀視性意涵，進行完整地分析，一方面希望能將莊子的哲學思想與觀視性的關係作出釐清；同時也期能藉由觀視性，對於莊子哲學的詮釋提供不同面向的進路。本文認為，莊子哲學的觀視性一方面與世間生存有著密切的聯繫，同時又與實踐及超越層面根本關聯。前者是目前學界論及莊子哲學的觀視性時較少觸及的；後者則與莊子哲學中的反思性及專凝性相聯繫。

Visuality has an important status and meaning in the philosophy of the ”Zhuangzi” 莊子.This essay attempts to offer a complete analysis of what visuality implies in the ”Zhuangzi”, hoping on one hand to clarify the relationship between the two, and on the other to identify different interpretative approaches that visuality may offer. This essay argues that visuality in the ”Zhuangzi” is closely connected not only with Being-in-the-world but also with the practical and transcendental dimensions. The former has rarely been touched upon in recent studies concerning visuality in the ”Zhuangzi”, and the latter is connected with reflection and concentration.
