相思樹及杉木樹皮抽出物製備酚醛樹脂之性質

Properties of Phenol-formaldehyde Resins from Bark Extractives of "Acacia confusa" and "Cunninghamia lanceolata"

摘要


本研究利用相思樹及杉木之樹皮抽出物與酚及甲醛於鹼性環境反應製備Resol型酚-樹皮抽出物-甲醛樹脂(Phenol-bark extractive-formaldehyde resins; PTF),探討不同合成條件所製備PTF樹脂之性質及其製作合板之膠合強度。由結果得知,抽出物含量30%及40%之PTF樹脂在反應過程(180 min)粘度無明顯變化,而抽出物含量50%者在反應時間約100 min後其粘度急速增加。各合成樹脂之膠化時間隨抽出物含量增加或反應時間延長而縮短。DSC分析結果顯示抽出物含量30%及40%之PTF樹脂具備相似之熱硬化行為。PTF樹脂應用於合板製作時,相思樹及杉木樹皮抽出物含量30%,合成反應時間分別為90 min及120 min,並採用135℃之熱壓溫度有較佳之合板膠合強度。

In this study, resol-type phenol-bark extractive-formaldehyde resins (PTF) were prepared by reacting bark extractives of "Acacia confusa" (Taiwan acacia) and "Cunninghamia lanceolata" (China fir) with phenol and formaldehyde under alkaline condition. The properties of PTF resins synthesized under different conditions and the bonding strength of plywood made were investigated. The experimental results show that the viscosity of PTF resins containing 30% and 40% of bark extractives had no obvious variation during the process of synthesis (180 min). Whereas, the viscosity of PTF resins with 50% of bark extractives rapidly increased after 100 min of reaction time. The gel time of prepared PTF decreased with increasing the amount of extractives or reaction time. The DSC analysis results show that PTF resins with 30% and 40% of bark extractives had the similar hot-setting behavior. When PTF resins were used for the manufacturing of plywood, those prepared with 30% of bark extractives and reacted with 90 min and 120 min for Taiwan acacia and China fir, respectively, had better bonding strength with 135℃ of hot-pressing temperature.
