In order to understand the residue of vinylchloride monomer in polyvinylchloride-made products of lunch box, 202 samples were purchased from the market in the northern Taiwan area. The results showed the range of vinylchloride monomer in the samples was 0~55.63 ppm and 19.8% of polyvinylchloride-made food box failed to meet the ”Hygenic standard of plastic food utensils, containers and packages”. (should be less than 1 ppm).
