350 samples included marlins, tunas, pomfret, bonitos and other shell fishes were randomly purchased from markets in northern, central, southern and eastern area of Taiwan during 1986. Histamine concentration was analyzed by florometer,. the result showed that 48 samples were detected with histamines, as 13.71%. The histamine concentration in 13 samples were higher than 100ppm which is the optimum content of histamin regulated in most countries. The highest concentration of histamine in these samples was 406ppm which couldn't cause food poison, the rest 302 samples were not detected with histamine.
