管理創新為組織追求卓越及維持競爭優勢的重要途徑。在不確定的環境下,社會性因素較理性效率因素更顯著的影響組織策略行為。由於管理創新活動具有不確定性,往往難以預先評估行動的結果,因此尋求行動正當性為組織策略決策的另一項重要的決策基礎,而透過社會模仿、及採取符合政府與專業團體規範的行為能提高組織行動的正當性,在此情況下,社會影響因素為組織行動的重要影響因素。根據體制理論的觀點,本研究主要以台灣醫療產業醫院組織管理創新採行行為為研究標的,檢視社會模仿、強制及規範等體制力量對於管理創新採行行為的影響,並進一步檢視管理創新活動對組織品質績效的影響。研究結果發現社會模仿、強制及規範等體制力量顯著影響醫療產業之管理創新採行行為,同時管理創新採行亦會影響醫院的品質績效。
Adoption of management innovation is a critical way of pursuing excellent and sustaining competitive advantage. Under uncertainty environment, social influence factors significantly affect organizational strategy more than rational efficiency factors. Because adoption of management innovation is uncertainty and its outcome is hard to predict, therefore, legitimacy becomes an important decision basis of strategic choice. Legitimacy results from social imitation and conforming to requirements of the government or powerful organization. Following institutional perspectives, this study targets on the adoption of management innovation of hospital industry in Taiwan. I apply a cross-sectional research design to examine the mimetic, coercive, and normative effects on the adoption of management innovation using the secondary data from website and governmental archives. At the same time, this study also examines the influence of adoption of management innovation on quality performance of hospitals. The results strongly support research hypothesis and show that the mimetic effect, coercive forces, and normative forces have a positive effect on the adoption of management innovation. Furthermore, the adoption of management innovation significantly influences the quality performances of hospitals.
