Surgical infection is the most common nosocomial infection among hospital patients. There are many risky factors affecting the incidents of postoperative wound infection, including age, underlying diseases, length of preoperative stay, skin preparing, operating room environment, blood transfusion, the duration of operation, drainage, and preoperative prophylactic antibiotics. We can perform the best practices for the prevention of surgical site infection by better unuerstanding the it.
