Disasters have caused serious damages to human lives and health around the world recently, such as the great Hanshin earthquake, the Tokyo sarin gas attack, the great 921 earthquake, and 911 New York terror attack. There is no doubt that Disaster Nursing has become one of the important areas in Disaster Medicine. The Disaster Nursing did not attract enough and concern attention in Taiwan until the 921 earthquake. The purpose of this article was to introduce the meaning, components, and trainings of Disaster Nursing. We hope more discussions and studies will be held to facilitate its smooth realization in the future.
