With the advance of medical knowledge and technology many new wound dressings are developed, causing a new challenge to nurses. If a patient's wound detention healings have illness complication, not only will the patient receive injury but also will increase the medical burden. So, it is very important to understand wound care. This article discusses wound healing process, wound assessment, wound care and wound dressing characteristics through literature review based on clinical practice. We hope this article can provide new information on the nursing care necessary for patients in order to improve the wound care quality.
