摘要

Patient falls can increase medical costs, prolong hospitalized days and cause damage. Therefore it is a most important topic. In this ward, the fall incidence was higher than the threshold in the years of 2002 and 2003. Through the intervention of this study, we set up the oncology standard operating procedures, built fall risk assessment tools, established the education and visiting sheets, made warning bells, warning billboards and caregivers egress signposts. We also streng thened the patients, caregivers and nursing staffs' cognition in the high risk group. The result of the study indicates that we not only enhance the patient and caregivers' concern for fall prevention, but also reduces the fall incidence rate .
