統治後期殖民地警察與臺灣四縣、海陸客語之學習

摘要

『警友』是日治時期新竹州警察部發行的雜誌。雜誌裡幾乎每期都刊載有「講義資料廣東語研究」之專欄。其以「四縣音－國語－海陸音」對譯的形態供警察職員學習客語，每個字音語都添加了假名注音，是研究客語史以及殖民地史相當寶貴的資料。本稿將研究對象聚焦於『警友』之四縣音與海陸音，比較分析客語假名遣所反映的四縣音與海陸音音韻，透過闡明其異同點，瞭解統治後期殖民地警察所認識的客語四縣音與海陸音。
研究成果顯示，當今學者論及之四縣音與海陸音的區別特徵幾乎都能反映在『警友』的資料裡，可見當時的日本人已經相當意識到四縣音與海陸音兩大客語次方言的存在。然而，礙於假名符號體系或是日語音韻體系和客語音韻體系根本上的差異，兩音在片仮名表記上仍有若干差異。而或是印刷的技術問題，或是對客語的認知不足，也有不少誤排的情況。

The purpose of this paper is to take general on the ”Kei –Yu” of the study on Hakka dailects at the ending of the Japanese colonial era, to examine the differences of Si-Yan and Hoi-Liuk Hakka dailect, and to show clearly how Japanese have grasped the Si-Yan and Hoi-Liuk Hakka dailect.
Consequently, the distinguished feature of the Si-Yan and Hoi-Liuk Hakka dailect is faithfully almost reflected in ”Kei–Yu”. The Japanese considered the existence of ”subdialect” and recognized it. Moreover, although the phoneme system of Hakka dailects is generally transferred correctly in the KATAKANA, disorder of the notation is also visible not few. In addition, The one whether recognition to convenience of the print or the recognition of Hakka dialects was insufficient to be a misprint is observed not a few.
