水稻施用石灰示範試驗報告

Demonstration on Liming the Acid Rice Paddy Soils for the Second Crop of 1950 and the First Crop of 1951

並列摘要

More than two hundred field plot experiments in a simple design for demonstration purpose were laid out on the acid soils of the northern part of Taiwan including red soils, yellow earths and acid alluvial soils with their pH ranging from 4.0 to 6.0 in 1950 and 1951. The size of plot is 50 square meters or 100 square meters as the case may be. No discussion on the response of rice to lime in relation to soil properties and the possible result of overliming by continuous application is attempted to be made in this paper. Only the yield of grain in all the experiments were tabled in tables 1 to 4 and briefly discussed in view to the elucidation of the possibility of increasing the yield of rice by lime on the acid soils of Taiwan. It is shown that in more than 95% of the experiments the yield of rice responses to the application of 3 tons per hectare of lime as base dressing, and in about 50% of the experiments, the increase of yield s as much as above 10%, which is taken arbitrarily as significant. The application of 3 tons per hectare of lime as top dressing is less effective than as base dressing. Only in 20-30% of the experiments, the increase of yield is above 10%, but in almost 90% of the experiments, the rice also responses to lime.
