摘要

在一個 2 × 2 的列聯表中，如果我們僅日道兩個邊緣分布，是否可以估計四個格子中的 p1，p2，p3，p4 的機率值？本文在這樣的架構下，完全用 MLE 的觀點，以大量的電腦計算為輔助，導出了Pi 的 MLE pi，i=1，2，3，4 的簡明公式。當然，pi 的統計性質十分差，那本來就是應該的。

In a 2 × 2 table of counts, if only the marginals are known,standard texs usually tell us that it is impossible to estimate the cell probabilities. In the note, we use extensive computations to explore the proerty of the appropriate likelihood function, and ”erived” a close form solution for the MLE pi,i=1,2,3,4 of the 4 cell proabilities.
