Quant um Particles in Fluctuating Uniform Magnetic Field

Motivated by the proposed existence of a spin chiral field, which fluctuates quantum mechanically due to its antiferromagnetic nature, for the normal state of the high-temperature superconductors, we try to understand the effect of these fluctuations on a 2-D quantum gas. Assuming an uniform fictitious magnetic field which fluctuates according to a gaussian distribution, we show that long-range correlations are developed among the otherwise independent particles. Thermodynamic properties are found to be the same as in the free particle case, but the diamagnetic response is totally suppressed.
