Properties of High Tc Superconductors Related to Their Layered Structure

並列摘要

The CuO2 layers in cuprate superconductors are good conducting layers and these layers are connected by relatively weak transfer interaction. Reflecting the electronic structure, the plasma frequency with the c-axis polarization is extremely low and sometimes it is lower than the superconducting energy gap. In this case, most of the plasma damping processes are prohibited and the plasma damping constant becomes very small. Related to this stable plasma, many exotic electromagnetic phenomena are expected. The reflectivity and transmissivity of light in the superconducting films are very much dependent on the light frequency around the plasma frequency and show some oscillatory behavior with respect to the light frequency. When the film includes vortices in a magnetic field, the vortex cores and the vortex motion induced by the plasma oscillation influence the dielectric constant of the film, causing a strong magnetic field dependence of the reflectivity and transmissivity.
