Double-Spin Asymmetries in Diffractive Heavy-Quark Production'

The longitudinal double spin asymmetry Att in polarized diffractive heavy quark production for a standard and a spin-dependent effective quark-pomeron vertex is calculated. It is shown that for the open charm production in proton-proton and leptonproton reactions this asymmetry is large and sensitive to the form of the pomeron coupling.
