The superdeformed energy bands of even-even Pb and Hg isotopes in the A=190 region are calculated in the superdeformed interacting boson model. The needed coefficients of fractional parentage are calculated by the group theoretical method. The energy bands and moments of inertia can be reproduced very well. It is found that a slight renomalization of the angular momentum-angular momentum interaction is needed to imitate the variation of the moment of inertia in a given energy band. The possible effects of the superdeformed single-boson energies on the energy spectra are discussed. It was found that the single-boson energy gaps between the superdeformed interacting d- and s-boson are small as compared with the normal boson case. The single-boson energy of the superdeformed s-boson is estimated as 0.13 to 0.16 MeV for 194Hg.
