We have calculated the low-temperature series expansions of the spontaneous magnetization and susceptibility of the Ising model on a checkerboard lattice with first and second neighbour interactions to the 22nd and 19th order respectively. We use the Padé approximants to estimate the critical exponents. Our results are consistent with the universality hypothesis which predicts that all two-dimensional Ising models have the same critical exponents ¯ = 0:125 and °0 = 1:75.
