Anisotropic Heisenberg Ferromagnetic Model in a Transverse Field

We investigate the magnetic reorientation in a spin-1/2 anisotropic ferromagnet due to a transverse magnetic field. Using a many-body Green's function treatment, the magnetization and the reorientation angle are studied as a function of the temperature, anisotropy, and transversemagnetic field. The effects of the exchange anisotropy and the transverse magnetic field on the magnetic properties of the system are discussed.
