Protected forest could provide many kinds of public welfare, such as reducing the sandstorm. We applied the ”Theory of Planned Behavior” to investigate local residents' behavior intention of conservation toward protected forest in Taitung. The results indicated that the ”perceived behavioral control” and ”subjective norm” had significant influence on residents' behavior intention of conserve to the protected forest. It was also affected by residents' social characteristics. According to the results, government could raise the residents' behavior intention and promoting residents' conservative behavior by propagating the importance of the protected forest.
