以電化學方法探討烷基銨插層膨潤石類之表面電荷特性

Electro-analysis of Surface Charge of Alkylammonium-Intercalated Smectites

摘要


由於黏土礦物改質技術不斷地發展,其在移除環境毒物質與工業材料上的用途很廣。以電化學分析技術結合X-射線及紅外線光譜儀器來探討烷基銨插層膨潤石類之表面電荷特性,以巴拉刈為電化學活性物質的偵測結果指出,由伏安圖及波峰電流強度可顯示分別導源於八面體層與四面體層電荷的鈉蒙特石與多鐵蒙特石在表面電荷特性上有明顯的差異。烷基銨插層會改變兩種蒙特石的表面電荷特性,且隨著烷基銨碳數的增加也增加其在兩種蒙特石表面電荷特性上的影響,其中以對多鐵蒙特石的影響較為明顯。利用網版印刷碳電極表面修飾的電化學分析技術可簡便有效地探討蒙特石改質材料的表面電荷特性,其對未來環境毒物質移除和工業用途之改質黏土礦物材料的開發會很有助益。

Due to the development of modified technique in clay minerals, these clay minerals have been extensively used in removing environmental toxic and industrial materials. In this report, surface charge of alkylammonium intercalated smectites was studied by using electrochemical technique coupled with X-ray and IR instruments. The electrochemical behavior of parquet clearly indicates an apparent difference of surface charges between Na-montmorillonite and ferruginous smectite, originated from octahedral and tetrahedral isomorphism substitute negative charge respectively. Intercalated alkylammonium could change the surface charge characteristics of these two montmorillonites. The effect of alkylammonium in surface charge was found to increase with the carbon number of alkylammonium. The surface charge of ferruginous smectite was significantly affected by alkylanimonium ion exchange method. Clay modified screen-printed carbon electrode can be useful to study surface charge of modified montmorillonite rapidly and effectively. The results could help the development of modified materials for removing environmental toxicants and industrial purpose.
