The article attempts to explore the implications of the United States' National Defense University (NDU) for strategic studies and education in the Republic of China (ROC). The integrated education system of the NDU links civilian officals and military officers at higher levels in national defense studies, constitutes an effective strategic studies field, and provides practical knowledge for American national and military strategies. There is a missing link in Taiwan's national strategy and military strategy planning, with the insulation of civilian officials and military officers at higher levels. Considering the Republic of China's current situation, Taiwan should increase the quality of its strategic studies and education in order to integrate with its strategic planning. An institution similar to the NDU should be recommended to the ROC.
