治療哮喘之藥物在近年來持續增加且療效更佳更安全，給藥次數不斷簡化，且投藥器具不斷進步；然而，在此同時期哮喘的死亡率反而增加，這明顯表示大部分哮喘病患並未能正確使用治療藥物來控制本身的哮喘狀況。本案例在描述藥師於門診診間對一位哮喘病患進行疾病管理的兩個月追蹤成效。藉由此案例分析，說明哮喘之治療準則，常見藥物使用問題，藥師進行療效監測的過程，以及建議醫師改變藥物治療模式和教育病患的成效。此成效包括藥師介入後對個案病患服藥順從性、吸入劑使用技巧、疾病控制情形、及藥物治療花費之影響。

The efficacy of asthma therapy through new drugs, new devices, and less dosing frequency has improved singnificantly in recent years; however, the death rate due to asthma increased at the same time. The main reason was that patients were not able to use the drug or device correctly to control the symptoms. This article reports a case who gained much better control of her asthma after a pharmacist performed asthma management for two months in the outpatient chest clinic. Through the follow up, the general guideline of asthma treatment, drug usage problems, and outcomes monitoring process were discussed. The outcomes of this particular patient were analyzed, which includes patient compliance, use of inhalers, symptom control and the cost of drug therapy.
