Tuberculous Tenosynovitis of the Flexor Tendons of the Wrist and Hand

並列摘要

Tuberculous tenosynovitis of the flexor tendons of the wrist and hand is a rare infectious disease. Because of the rarity of these cases, early diagnosis is often difficult. We report on a case with an obvious trauma history and without pulmonary tuberculous disease. Preoperatively, he received a radiological examination, and the images provided some important information like the presence of rice bodies. We treated the patient with wide excision of the tumor mass and long-term antitubercular drug therapy after final pathologic interpretation. After treatment, no recurrence was found at 9 months follow-up. The radiological images were helpful in diagnosing tuberculous tenosynovitis preoperatively, and we could easily distinguish this disease.
