Stress Fracture of the Pubic Ramus in a Military Recruit

We described a case of radiographically proven stress fracture on right pubic inferior ramus in a 20-year-old military recruit, who suffered from progressive groin pain in his basic military training for two months. Initial plain radiograph of the pelvis revealed a tumoral destructive lesion with thin callus formation at right pubic inferior ramus; there was no soft tissue mass presented at CT and MR images, however a subtle fracture line was noted at the right acetabular region on MR images. To sum up the radiographic findings and the previous training history, stress fracture of right pubic inferior ramus was diagnosed. After bed rest and conservative treatment for two months, the pain of hip was resolved and the sclerotic healing of the lesion appeared on radiogram.
