The Development of the Primary Battery of the School and College Ability Test

摘要


幼兒學校能力測驗係依據Henmon-Nelson的心理能力測驗修訂而成者。適用於幼稚園至小學二年級,現己列入自幼稚園至大學的系列「學校能力」測驗中的一個測驗。標準化樣本爲自台北地區十九所幼稚園及二十所國民小學,依分層取樣程序所取得279人。建立有幼稚園中班至小學二年級百分等級及差數智商常模各四個。信度研究爲相隔三個月的穩定係數均達0.01顯著水準。效度研究,效標爲小學一、二年級國語和算術的學期成績,和測驗總分及測驗二得分的相關,均達0.01顯著水準。

For kindergarten-grades 2, this battery which is one of the whole series of the School College Tests, contains three distinct subtests: comprebension (general information) picture vocabulary and size and number. These short subtests measure verbal and Quantitative skills important in assessing readiness for school work. The Battery is standardized on a sample of 279 children from 19 kindergartens and 20 primary schools. Both types of norms are provided: age norm are reported in term of raw score conversion to deviation IQ'o, grade norms to percentile rank. Age and grade norms each have distinctive uses. Age norms are useful when counseling an individsal child. Grade norms, on the other hand, are more useful when planning immediate instructional activities. Both reliability and validity of this battery are found very satisfactory.
