本研究旨在採取縱貫發展研究方法探討我國見童及青少年自我觀念特質發展的情形。取自臺北市和臺北縣兩所國小及國中學生的研究對象(共648人,男309人,女339人),從民六十七年起,連續三年,每年都接受修訂田納西自我觀念測驗的衡鑑,以蒐集生理自我、倫理自我、心理自我、家庭自我、社會自我、自我認定、自我接受及自我行動等自我觀念的特質。本研究主要的發現至下: 1.我國兒童及青少年多數的自我觀念特質(國小前段學生有8項,國小後段學生有6項,及國中階段學生有5項),並未隨著年齡之增加而著之改變。 2.青春期前後的學生,其心理自我、家庭自我、自我認定、及自我行動等特質,大體上有隨年齡而減低之趨勢,此一趨勢在女生方面尤為明顯。
This study is to use the longitudinal approach to investigate the development of the self concept of children and adolescents. The subjects including 648 youngsters (309 males, 339 females), were from two elementary schools and two junior high schools in Taipei area. The concept scale, followed the Tennessee self Concept Scale, was administered to the subjects three times in regular class settings. The main findings of the studying were as follows: 1. The self concept characteristics of Chinese Youngsters were sound and positive. 2. The self concept characteristics, except identity, of elementary school boys and girls did not chang with age. 3. Some self concept characteristics, such as psychological self and behavior, of junior high school students descended with age. 4. Sex differences of changes of self concept characteristics were found.
