本研究之目的,主要在於探討Holland生涯類型論中的六種職業興趣與人格之間的關係。樣本爲1043位高中(含高職)三年級的男生與1069位高中(含高職)三年級的女生,均施以職業探索量表(Self-Directed Search)及愛氏性格量表(Edwards Personal Preference Schedule)。結果發現,在以簡單相關及典型相關法分析人格與職業興趣的共同成份部份,兩份量是表可測得五個(男生)或六個(女生)典型因素結構。同時,SDS六個類型的總變異量中,有35.2%(男生)或36.5%(女生)可以由EPPS的人格分數來解釋。另外,以多元逐步迴歸方法分析EPPS的人格變項對Holland類型人格屬性的預測力,發現預測變項所預測的方向,大致能符合Holland理論對各類型職業興趣的人格定義。唯「成就需求」與「順從需求」幾乎對六個職業興趣均有顯著的預測力。
This study examines the relations between Holland's career typology and the Murray's Need theory of personality. The Self-Directed Search (SDS) and the Edwards Personal Preference Schedule (EPPS) were administered to 12-grade students (M=1043, F=1069).Using canonical analysis, the results indicated that the two instruments contained five pairs (M) or six pairs (F) of canonical common factors, and yielded 35.2% (M) or 36.5% (F) scales redundancy, which suggested moderate overlap of persnality preference and vocational interests. In addition, results of the stepwise regression procedures generally supported the personality definitions of the Holland's theory predicted by the EPPS variables.
