台灣婦女女性意識發展歷程之研究－以三位女性主義者的生命故事為例

The Process of Feminist Consciousness Development in Taiwanese Women: The Life Stories of Three Feminists

摘要

本研究的目的在於了解台灣女性在女性意識發展歷程中的經驗，受到那些因素的影響，以及社會文化在其中扮演的角色。研究採質的研究中之生命故事研究法，以非結構的深度訪談方式，對三位女性主義者進行訪談，獲得受訪者對自己女性意識發展歷程的敘說，再依敘說分析的方法，分析每位受訪者敘說的內容，最後以分析完成的訪談資料為基礎，參考訪談日誌，加入研究者個人的了解和解釋，分別寫出三位受訪者的生命故事，並整理出每位受訪者女性意識發展歷程的綜合描述和分析圖。最後，針對三位受訪者的女性意識發展歷程，整理討論影響女性意識發展歷程的背景因素、女性意識發展歷程中的內涵、女性意識發展歷程對個人的影響，並根據研究發現，提出數項建議。

The purpose of this study was to understand the process of feminist consciousness development in Taiwanese women, the factors associated with feminist consciousness development, and the roles that society and culture played in the process. In-depth interviews were conducted to collect three feminists' (ages above 30) description of their experience of feminist consciousness development. The interview data was transcribed carefully and analyzed by the narrative analysis methods. Then three life stories were written based on the analysed data and the researcher's interpretation of it.Afterwards, three life stories were compared and the following findings were discussed: 1) The background factors influencing the process of feminist consciousness were: (1) the family of origin; (2) parents' conceptions about gender role; (3) educational background; (4) the opportunities to be exposed to the idea of feminist consciousness. 2) The important characteristics in the process of feminist consciousness develpoment were: (1) the awareness of inequalities in life experience provoking the process; (2) the strength to survive and to transcend; (3) resources and advantageous factors; (4) difficulties and disadvantageous factors; (5) the process of feminist consciousness development interweaving with personal life event and social transformation. 3) The effects of feminist consciousness development on women were: (1) being more autonomous yet closer to others; (2) affirming oneself for the efforts and progress; (3) changing gradually in almost every aspect of the person.Based on the above findings, suggestions for children education, educational system, feminist organizations, and future research were presented.
