Fracture of the Tibial Tubercle in the Adolescent

Avulsion fracture of the tibial tuberosity in the adolescent is uncommon. We had reviewed 4 patients with tibial tubercle avulsion fractures, all were adolescent meles who had been engaged in jumping sports when the injury occurred. Two of them were type 2A injuries and the others were type 3A. Mostly left-sided injuries except one. They were all treated by open reduction and internal fixation, casting and CPM rehabilitation. The final results were good and regained full range of motion.
