Early gastric cancer (EGC), although highly curable, remained difficult to be detected in Taiwan. The minute nature of EGC precludes endoscopists from recognizing it. Magnifying endoscopy with narrow band imaging (ME-NBI) was shown useful in distinguishing neoplastic from non-neoplastic lesions. Here we report a 55-year-old man with an intramucosal cancer in gastric antrum. With the aid of ME-NBI, the cancerous lesions was accurately diagnosed and removed by endoscopic submucosa dissection (ESD). The usefulness of ME-NBI and its role in diagnosing EGC will be re-emphasized.
