摘要

時人對於荀子「天」與人關係的詮釋，通常以釋荀學將「天」視為純粹自然義的立場為出發，用之以解讀《荀子》「不求知天」與「知天」的言論。事實上，「天」一方面具有自然義；也與人有著道德的關聯。聖人具有智德，所謂「不知天」與「知天」，為智德對於「天」的一種明智的取捨態度。

Nowadays, Xun Zi's interpretation about the relationship between Heaven and Man is usually employed, from the perspective of seeing Heaven in its natural sense, to understand Xun's ideas of ”not seeking to know Heaven” and ”knowing Heaven.” In fact, ”Heaven” has its natural meaning, on the one hand, and is morally related to Man, on the other hand. Sages are people of prudence. The so-called ”not seeking to know Heaven” and ”knowing Heaven” are the wise choices of prudence regarding ”Heaven.”
