This paper aims to analyze Hao Jing's Yijing (The Book of Changes) Leaning to understand Hao's thoughts against the background of the Ming-Qing intellectual history. It first provides a close examination of Hao's Yijing theory and shows how it is different from Zhu Xi's view. Hao Jing believed Taijitu belong to Taoist works and betrayed the meaning of the Yijing. The paper elaborates Hao Jing's thoughts from two aspects, which are (1) his ideas about the hexagram symbols, (2) his understanding of shiyi (ten wings). He argued that Yijing is not just for fortune telling, but also a theory for the political affairs. In Conclusion, Hao gave up on the transcendental thinking of Neo-Confucianism and propagated mundane worldly values in his Yijing Learning.
