從陽明論「禮」的進路反思儒家文本現代表達形式之特徵

An Reflection on the Features of the Modern Expressive Forms of Confucian Texts in Light of Wang Yang-ming's Approach to "Rites" (Li)

摘要


本文試圖以陽明為例,觀察其論「禮」等理念文本的「文字性表達的形式特徵」。形式的屬性屬於可複製者,如果此觀察足夠詳實,則未來吾人可以進一步思考,是否可能從「文字系統」複製到「數位系統」,以演算法模擬人類的道德判斷與決策,此為本文最初寫作動機。然而,為集中探討焦點,對陽明文本的「現代表達形式」,本文分析重點有二:一方面將指出陽明文本在傳統上的論述策略、分析其方法論,特別是其內涵統合個人與群體、統合先天良知與後天孔孟文本的方法,內含何種思考模型,又以何種「文字形式」加以表述,此傳統的文字系統能否歸納出某種「表達特徵」。其次,此文字形式的思考模型,能否在未來數位化時代中透過「數位形式」,承繼原有的儒家「文字形式」的「表達特徵」,並克服從「文字系統」的表述轉換為「數位系統」的困難,盡可能保留原初精神的完備性,發展出其應有功能。簡言之,本文以陽明論禮為素材,觀察其結構,歸納其文字性思考中有關禮的表達重點,進而反思未來儒學文本數位化與面對數位主體時的可能困境,依此重新探陽明對「禮」的詮釋,以及其文本對儒學的「現代表達形式」所提供的啟發。

This article is meant to look at the "formal features of the literal expressions" of the texts where Wang Yang-ming addresses ideas such as "rites" (li) and others. One feature of "form" is its reproducibility. If the form can be examined in a detailed and comprehensive way, one could consider the possibility, through algorithm, to reproduce the form from the "literal system" to the "digital system" and simulate human beings' moral judgements and decisions, which is the motivation for this article. However, in order to bring our discussion to a focus, the analysis about the "modern expressive forms" of Wang's texts revolves around two issues. First, we point out the traditional discursive strategies of Wang's texts and analyze what mental model is implicated in his methodology--particularly in the methodology that unites the individuals and the collective, the natural conscience and the acquired Confucianism-in what "literal form" it is expressed and whether some sort of "expressive features" can be inducted from this traditional literal system. Second, we discuss whether the mental model of this literal form can carry on the "expressive features" of the original "literal form" of Confucianism, overcome the difficulties of transferring from the "literal system" to the "digital system," and preserve the comprehensiveness of its original spirit as much as possible to develop its proper function. To put it in a nutshell, employing Wang Yang-ming's doctrine of "rites" (li), we look at its pattern, induct the key points about "rites" (li) from the literal thinking, and then contemplate on what difficulties Confucian texts may encounter when they are digitalized and confronted with the digital subject. In this way, we inquire again how Wang interprets "rites" (li) and how his texts inspire the "modern expressive form" of Confucianism.
