東西的意義與環境轉變
The Meaning of Objects in Environmental Transition
摘要
本文根據在紐約的台灣留學生所做的訪談，探討東西在環境轉變時所具有的意義。文末則描述了作者對人與東西的交互關係的一些觀點。

Based on fourteen interviews of Chinese students from Taiwan, the meaning of objects in their experience during the first semester in the United States was discussed. The objects which students carried with them, left behind and new objects were dealt with The objects were classiffed in terms of their relations with continuity Five cases showed how the totality of objects was embedded in the student's whole life At last, a tentative perspective on the transaction between persons and objects described.
