這是一位43歲男性在民國82年6月21日早上被發意識昏迷。立刻被他的朋友送到本院急診而住進外科加病房。

A 43 year-old man was found to be unconscious at morning on June 21, 1993. He was sent to our emergency room immediately. After admission, mannitol was given ant the conscious was mild improved. Unfortunately, sudden onset conscious deterioration occurred (GCS 14→6) on June 23. Brain CT revealed massive edematous change associated with PCA infarction. He died 30 days after admission. After autopsy, we confirmed brain contusion with subdural hematoma formation induced hippocampus herriation and left occipital lobe necrosis favor of PCA infarction. The whole brain stem also reveled multiple foci of ischemic necrosis due to massive brain edema. The cause of death was respiratory failure.
