This study is to investigate the change of size requirements of the assignable spaces of (1) stack area, (2) reading area, (3) and stuff area in Taiwan's major university libraries under the influence of information Technology. Three methods is used: on-site investigation, interviews, and questionnaires, to gather data of 9 university libraries concerning the change of are a size, space uses, and the users' altitude in term s of their satisfactory toward the size of working areas, etc. Conclusions and new space planning norm s are made as well as recommendations for further applications.
