動態資訊呈現是現代網頁設計爲呈現訊息的主要技術之一,目前在網頁設計中常用的動態資訊呈現方式主要有前導式(leading)、快速連續呈現式(R.S.V.P.)及閃現式(flash)等三種。本研究探討此三種動態資訊呈現方式,其資訊內容語意分割方式(連續性排列及語意完整性切割方式)、訊息欄位長度(10、20及30字元)及配速(140、195及250wpm)對於使用者閲讀理解績效的影響。實驗之研究結果顯示:(1)受試者對於動態資訊的閱讀理解績效爲閃現式與快速連續呈現式優於前導式、訊息欄位長度30及20字元優於10字元、配速140及195 wpm優於250 wpm;(2)前導式動態呈現資訊的語意分割方式對於使用者閲讀理解績效影響並不顯著,而快速連續式與閃現式以語意完整性切割方式呈現時,受試者有較高的閱讀理解績效;(3)前導式動態訊息呈現方式時採配速爲195 wpm,及快速連續呈現式與閃現式採用配速爲140 wpm時受試者的閱讀理解績效顯著地比其他配速爲佳;(4)當訊息欄位長度採用相對較短的10與20字元,受試者對於配速以相對較低的140與195wpm有較250 wpm佳的閱讀理解績效,但當訊息欄位長度爲30字元時,受試者在三種配速下的閱讀理解績效並無顯著差異。
Dynamic information display is one of the technologies used in website design, and the most popular dynamic information display are leading, R.S.V.P., and Flash displays, this study to investigated the effects of these three dynamic display formats, paragraph segment of dynamic information (general and semantic segments), message length (10, 20, and 30characters), and speed (140, 195, and 250 wpm) on subjects' reading comprehension. Result of analysis were as follows:(1)Regarding the main effects of factors on subjects' comprehension, both R.S.V.P. and flash displays were better than leading display; message lengths of 20 and 30 characters were better than 10 characters, and speed settings of 140and 195 wpm were better than 250 wpm.(2)For leading display, Paragraph segment had no significant effect on subjects' comprehension, however, whereas for R.S.V.P. and flash displays semantic paragraph segment led to better comprehension than general paragraph segment; (3)Regarding the adequate speeds of these three dynamic information displays, the speed settings which subjects performed the best comprehension were 195 wpm for leading display and 140 wpm for R.S.V.P. and flash displays;(4)When the message length was set at 10 or 20 characters, speeds of 140 and 195 wpm led to better subjects' comprehension than that of 250 wpm. When the message length was set at 30 characters, nevertheless, subjects did not show significantly different comprehension at the three speed settings.
