The magnitude scales, including M(subscript L), M(subscript D), M(subscript S)(GR), m B, M(subscript S), m B, M(subscript H), M(subscript J) and M(subscript I), applied to quantify earghquakes in the Taiwan region since 1900 are reviewed. Their relations studied by several authors are also discussed.
