Dynamic study of W atoms and clusters on W (111) surfaces

Abstracts


利用場離子顯微鏡觀察鎢原子團簇在W(111) 上的動態行為。單顆鎢原子的擴散活化能較多顆鎢原子大,也象徵單顆鎢原子較穩定。原子團在W(111) 上的運動行為:無論上行、下行、或脫離等擴散運動發生的溫度都十分相近( 約100K),這可說明鎢單原子針的形成機制。

Parallel abstracts


The dynamic behaviors of W adatoms and clusters on W(111) were observed by field ion microscopy. The activation energy of single W adatom is higher than the activation energy of lots of W adatoms. That implies a sinlg W adatom is more stable. The occurrence temperatures of the dynamic behaviors like terrace diffusion, ascending, descending and detachment motion on W(111) are quite near. These experimental results explain the mechanism of single atom W tip.
