Poly(ethylene/trimethylene terephthalate)共聚酯結晶動力學與結晶形態的探討

Crystallization Kinetics and Morphology of Poly(ethylene/trimethylene terephthalate) Copolyesters

摘要


本研究以不同比例的乙二醇(Ethylene Glycol,EG)和1,3-丙二醇(1,3-Propanedio,1,3-PDO)與對苯二甲酯(Dimethyl terephthalate,DMT)進行共聚合反應,形成一系列不同比例之Poly(ethylene/trimethylene terephthalate,ET)共聚酯。以可加熱式偏光顯微鏡(Hot stage polarizing microscope,HSPM)觀察共聚酯在不同等溫結晶溫度之結晶形態與球晶成長速率,並以Lauritzen-Hoffman二次成核理論進行動力學分析。實驗結果顯示ET共聚酯之球晶成長速率隨EG含量的增加而有明顯的下降。二次成核理論分析結果發現ET15之regime I→II與regime II→III分別在175與170℃;ET31與ET43僅觀察到regime II→III,分別發生在145與135℃。ET共聚酯的regime I→II→III的轉移會伴隨著結晶形態的轉變,ET15由橢圓狀球晶轉變為環狀消光球晶再轉變成圓球狀球晶形態。ET共聚酯在regime III仍可觀察到環狀消光球晶,說明第三單體的加入使晶片更容易產生扭曲。

A series of poly(ethylene/trimethylene terephthalate) (ET) copolyesters were synthesized from ethylene glycol (EG), 1,3-Propanedio (1,3-PDO), and dimethyl terephthalate (DMT). Crystallization morphology and crystallization rate were observed and measured using a hot stage polarizing microscope (HSPM). Lauritzen- Hoffman secondary nucleation theory was applied to investigate crystallization kinetics of ET copolyesters. Results show that the growth rate of spherulite decreased with an increase of EG content of the ET copolyesters. The regime I → II and regime II → III transitions of ET15 occurred at 175 and 170℃ . Regime II → III transition was observed in ET31 and ET43, which occurred at 145 and 135℃ , respectively. The regime I → II → III transitions of ET copolyesters were accompanied with morphological transitions. The morphology of ET15 changed from elliptical-shaped spherulite to banded spherulite and then to normal spherulite at the regime I → II → III transitions. Banded spherulite can be observed in regime III of ET copolyesters. It means that the third monomer introducing into the molecular chain lead to lamella twisting more easily.
