A Novel Mechanism to Alleviate the Deadzone Effect of Femtocell System

摘要


在微細胞基地台和通用移動系統並存的通訊環境中,兩個系統之間的訊號干擾會對各自的使用者造成通訊死角的問題。減少通訊死角的範圍以降低通訊死角對使用者的影響,是通訊系統發展的重要考量之一。本文根據使用者設備以註冊或遞交程序取得基地台存取權的程序與訊號特性,提出一減輕微細胞基地台之死角效應的機制。在使用者設備進入通訊死角之前,經由所提出的微細胞基地台自動功率控制程序,使通訊死角範圍縮小,進而減輕對使用者設備可能造成的通訊死角之影響。

When Femtocell and UMTS co-exist in the two-tier communication environment, interference between the two systems may bring about the problem of communication deadzone. The way to reduce the scale of deadzone and to alleviate deadzone effect to users is one of the major issues in the development of communications. Based on the properties of the procedure and the messages during user registration and handover that UE used to acquire access right to a base station, a mechanism is proposed in this article to adjust the transmission power of a FAP automatically to mitigate the deadzone effect for UMTS users in the two-tier environment. The proposed method can downscale a probable Femtocell deadzone automatically just before a UE reaches it, therefore alleviating the probable deadzone effects on the UE.
